Brooklyn, NY – The leadership of Williamsburg ’s Jewish community extends its congratulations to Senator-Elect Daniel Squadron on his victory in yesterday’s Democratic primary, and we hope and expect to work closely with him.

Williamsburg has always showed its gratitude to the elected officials who have served us so well and for so long. Senator Connor deserves our respect and accordingly won by a margin of two to one in the predominantly Jewish election districts in Williamsburg.
Senator-Elect Squadron, as our new state senator, will be able to count on our full support going forward as he moves to implement our shared vision for more affordable housing, improved social services, enhanced workforce development, better police protection and all the other issues critical to continued growth and success in our community.
We look forward to working with Senator-Elect Squadron for the betterment of our community, our district, our borough and our city.

seems to me that UJCares (for nobody but themselves)lost the vote 6-1 in Hasidic E.D.s and is unlikely to be any more helpful to Squadron than the paltry few votes they brought out. Besides all they do is one time a year events and then praise themselves for the rest of the year.

No, a lot of people who support UJCare voted for Connor, me included, because of hakoras hatov. The Aaronim with all the non-Satmarer in Williamsburg are two thirds of Williamsburg. If UJO wants the support of non-Satmarer in Williamsburg, then they should stop taking the side of the Zalonim who are stepping on us, most noticeable with harassing and intimidating those carrying with the eiriv.

Here you can see in the first tab the Williamsburg numbers. Connor won Williamsburg 65-35, went for Satmar Williamsburg/UJO/Rabbi Niederman. Satmar Upstate/UJCare/Rabbi Glantz were crushed by the vast majority of willilamsburg.
Once again it shows that the Majority of Williamsburg are not stupid and will not follow the propoganda but will support the respect and responsible community leaders. In a fight between the 2 satmars, Satmar Williamsburg won. In the fight between the 2 organizations, UJO won. In the fight between Rabbis Niederman and Glantz, Rabbi Niederman won and won big time even though the Aroinis conducted an unprecedanted nasty personal campaign against him with a 20 page newspaper full of false propoganda and personal dirt on the respected Rabbi Niederman

My friend was at the voting place and she saw people from ujcare going into a booth of an old lady and voting for her and they tell her ok your finishes.

For those who don’t know, here is the picture. UJO supports the Zalonim, and UJCare is a newly created organization by the Aaronim who felt that UJO betrayed them.
Get the facts straight:
#1. Many new young voters could not vote for Squadron because they do not live in his Senate district. The 25th does not cover Williamsburg’s expanded territories on the North & South (incl. Clinton Hill, etc.). Also, many newly registered voters were not in the system yet, courtesy of the slow Board of Elections. These people will be able to vote & make a difference in a broader local election, i.e. congressman, mayor.
#2 Even if Connor had more votes in the 25th, Williamsburg is not KJ. Many non Jews voted, most likely for Connor who was supported by their friend, Vita Lopez.
Bottom Line: UJCare is stronger than u think.

#3 in the Heyward polling site where there is almost only yidden the difference was 585 for UJCare and 1231 for UJO which comes out to a 68-32 Connor. Seems to me that if there were any hispanic or other non Jewish votes in the other Williamsburg polling sites, they most have went strongly for Squadron thereby bringing down the Connor total from 68% in the heyward site to an average of 65% overall

I agree iwth the poster that states that Glantz is an asken and works for the community. However, I also am appalled at the actions against Niederman. When politics reigns, it becomes more about the individuals, and less about the community.
I think its great that there are now 2 organizations you can count on to fight for the community.
