Israel – Israel has tightened security around police chief Dudi Cohen after he received death threats believed to be from hardline Jewish settlers, Israeli news reports said on Sunday.

“You have been condemned to the next life, your end is nigh,” said one anonymous letter sent to Cohen, the reports carried by both public and independent television channels said.
Police suspect that the threats are the work of hardline settlers angry at a 10-month moratorium on permits for new settler homes in the West Bank outside annexed Arab east Jerusalem, the reports added.
But they have not entirely ruled out a gangland connection.
Police are responsible for enforcing the new building restrictions in the settlements.
The police spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
The police are very protective of their own. I hope whoever sent this vile threat does not meet the same fate as the arab terrorists who died while “resisting arrest”.
Two days ago. the son of the murdered Rabbi said at the funeral of his father ” we should not attack innocent Arabs because it is not our way. This was a settler !! No one stressed what he said as 6 brothers and sisters were made orphans and his young mother a widow. How would the Arabs react ? just look at what is happening as israel killed these repeat terrorists. Although it is possible, that a settler did this more times than not the police lie in regard to the settlers as has been evidenced by the many brutal attacks on them and then the police are convicted. The police are the same source as those beating up chareidim many times. If a settler did this, he should be given the maximum sentence.
Don’t understand, per what I understood from last weeks Rabbi Melamed story, the Army is the one taking care of the settler evacuations, why would the settlers give a cr-p about the toothless entity called the Israeli Police dept.
