Jerusalem – Report: Eda Charedis to Curse Netanyahu and D-G Gabbai at Rally [photos]

Israeli riot police remove an ultra-Orthodox Jew from a fence as they make arrests on 16 May 2010 at Barzilai Medical Center in the southern town of Ashkelon, Israel. EPA/Jerusalem – Leading figures of the extreme “eda haredit” haredi community are planning to lay a curse on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the director-general of his office, Eyal Gabbai on Sunday night, Channel 10 news reported.

The “eda haredit” leaders have called a protest rally in Jerusalem over the start of evacuation of graves from the site for the Ashkelon hospital’s reinforced emergency department.

According to the report, at the rally they will ask the assembled crowd, in an unusual move, to join them in cursing the Prime Minister and the man who negotiated with the “atra kadisha” haredi organization on behalf of the government on the issue of locating Barzilai hospital’s emergency department.

Cut it out. The Eyda is not “extreme.” They are only active for their own interests, just like Mizrachi settlers or Agudist politicians. Why does the world hang onto to old stereotypes from 50 years ago?!

This is Pathetic! What a horrible Chillul Hashem! The worst part about it, is that these bones belong to heathens. Indiviudals that probably have Jewish blood on their hands. So the Eidah is fighting against Jews and cursing Yidden, for bones of non-jews who probably killed and raped Jews while they were alive. Explain this to me please!

Good to know that these eda charedi “care” and fight for 2000 year old Byzantine Pagans that worshiped tumah that our Gemorahs forbade. I highly doubt they care about these goyish ancient bones. During these global economic tensions where governments slash programs, the Charedi will not waste an opportunity to create riots and tensions to extort money out of the government to support their large communities that can’t find jobs because their leaders forbids education and skills.
If the ploy will work, Natanyahu will dump several million shekels to them until the next riot season.

Enough already. No frum person thinks disturbing graves is right, but there have been many instances where it was necessary (in York, UK, for example, years ago) where they were re-interred al pi Halacha, al Kiddush Hashem.

So I say this: Meir Kahane z”l forgot these deranged idiots when he called for Arabs to be thrown out of Israel. These lazy, parasitic, trouble-making illiterate bums don’t deserve to live in Israel. They take, take, take & give nothing. Let them leave if they hate it so much, but they won’t because no other country will keep supporting enemies of the State the way Israel does.

Let them curse. My father told me a curse from a Rasha is a Bracha. And just in case I mislead anyone…I am Chassidish & openly pro-Israel. Despite its many faults, I pray for the welfare of Israel every day, and its government, soldiers & Jewish citizens. I say Tehillim for them every day, but I’m getting close to omitting these crazies. It’s time other people stood up too.

This is madness, and charedim wonder why they are looked down upon! This is a tremendous chilul hashem and the more extreme Haredim act the more people will go off the derech. As an MO Jew, i think the secular Jews in Israel are behaving far more like a Jew should than the Haredim have been acting lately.

I cant understand the posters above. You see the pictures of those skeletons and the workers smiling with severed hand, what’s the joke? The fact is that even the Rabbanut has not given permission to do this, leave your daas baal habait to yourself. Are we not a nation of laws, which is the Torah?

Besides if this would be your grandfather would you not curse? There is also a contributing factor in which many nations are watching and in fact have already stated that if Israel can unearth graves, why cant they.

I am not sure if they way they are demonstrating is something I would agree to, but that is a mitigating factor. In every country, including democratic, there are protests that are violent in nature and most of the time it’s held by the left.

Would the Israeli state be under British rule, this would never happen! and almost sure that even if the Palestinians would’ve rule, this ugly desecration of holy graves wouldn’t happen either.
So basically this is why a so called “Jewish state” is needed for, to desecrate ancient Jewish graves.
    Shame on Israel!

I see a very strange picture, appears that the “extreme” eda charedit are responsible for the graves of tano’im and amoiro’im and all gedoilim.. where are all other people always ready to stand up for “their own” rights before elections or when a few crazy people decide to move into Arab villages risking their own lives and lives of their innocent families, then there are so many people busy protecting them, so many activists are being created over night.
All of a sudden, when it comes to protect the holy graves, kivrei raboisainu va’avosainu, only the “Eda” is here for them.. strange.

Why are we sitting quiet when such things happen in the holy land? and some commentators are still busy bashing at the righteous Eda activists for acting on behalf of the holy kivrei avos, shame on those critics, we should all raise our voices to protect the holy ancient places.

I never thought I’d be happy to see the police dragging screaming yidden throught the streets and carrying them off to jail but tonight is an exception. This madness has got to stop and Netanyahu has finally shown the resolve to move ahead. This curse will bounce back on those who started this busha and, B’YH, they will be consumed with in the firestorm they themselves created.

The arguments made in favor of these protestors are stupid and make normal frum people look stupid by association.

    1. These are Byzantine graves. These people were pagans who pillaged their way across E”Y, they were not holy Jews nor were they people who died 50 or even 100 years ago, who now have angry offspring running around. The Byzantine empire does not exist and has not for several centuries, so no, Ukranians are not going to start digging up Jewish graves in retaliation.

    2. The Eida lost all credibility on graves after 2005. They weren’t interested in the dati leumi people buried in Gush Katif, but hey lets burn down Jerusalem for some pagan bones.

    3. These protestors are shababnikim who need to be sent to the army since they enjoy fighting or forced to work. All this does is make Gabi Gazit and his chiloni friends happy because it ‘proves’ their arguments against us.

To all those that keep on saying that we’re talking about goyish graves, let’s quote VIN
“The Israel Antiquities Authority on Sunday said preliminary findings from the excavation at the site of the planned emergency room in Ashkleon reveal that the ancient remains buried there are not Jewish, but from the Byzantine era.”
We all know what ‘preliminary findings’ means. Nothing more has to be said (especially when we seen how many people buy these excuses). It’s interesting how EVERY single time they dug up graves they were from non-jews (or animals!) even when there is jewish inscriptions on the caskets etc.
