EPA/URIEL SINAI / GETTY IMAGESWashington – US Secretary of State John Kerry has warned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in recent weeks that Israel may be confronted with an international deligitimization campaign “on steroids” if renewed peace talks with the Palestinians fail to bear fruit, journalist Jeffery Goldberg reported on Tuesday in his Bloomberg view column.

Goldberg quoted anonymous officials as saying Kerry believes that Netanyahu fears deligitimization to the same degree that he fears Iran’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu is not only concerned that the delegitimization campaign could hurt Israel’s economy through boycotts, “he is said to be even more worried that this campaign will erode Israel’s ability to defend itself,” according to Goldberg.

Speaking on Monday ahead of peace talks set to take place in Jerusalem this week, Kerry said that Israel’s announcement of new settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem “were to some degree expected,” and urged Israelis and Palestinians to move head with peace talks due to resume this week.

“What this underscores is the importance of getting to the table, getting to the table quickly” and resolving disputes over settlements and other issues, said Kerry. He added that he had spoken on Monday with Israeli negotiator Tzipi Livni and had called Netanyahu.

Israel’s housing minister on Sunday approved plans for 1,200 new units in settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, which Palestinians claim as part of their state.

“The United States of America views all of the settlements as illegitimate,” said Kerry, who was on a visit to Colombia.

    1. Dear Zionists: the propaganda that established your state has reached its sell-by date. Time to try something different, or face the hostility of the goyim. You are still in golus

      • Dear aryeh,

You are obviously not old enough to remember the arms embargo in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Israel found a friend in France of all places and bought her weapons from the French.

Unfortunately, you also do not recall the way that ALL of Klal Yisrael came together in 1967 during the 6 day war. With the help of HaShem, we proved that Jews do not have to be lambs on the way to slaughter when confronted by Goyim.

Since then, Israel has become a leader in world technology and commerce, again, only with the help of HaShem. We are done with living in ghettos and kidding up to Goyim for public assistance. It only leads to trouble, whether in monsey, Williamsburg, Poland or the met council. So you can believe in the Goyim helping you, I’ll go with G-d.

        • It’s just the opposite! YOU are going with those who revolt against a decree of Hashem a bunch of Atheists! And YES we are going with the goyim according to the order of Hashem!
And What kind of success is it the ’67 war, If that’s the cause that hatred and antisemitism against Jews skyrocketed like never before?

        • (Paper) LionofZion:
How ironic that Zionists are so blinded by their idol even here.
          He is 100% correct.

This article is yet another clear refutation of the delusional Zionist premise of replacing Judaism and the Torah with a Nationalist State to be just as goyish as the goyim, like the Italian have Italy and the French have France.

We are not just another nation. We are a Nation of the Torah, not of a particular land. Yes, Eretz Yisrael is our holy land. But we are a Torah Nation, not a nationalist Zionist nation of Israel.

You claim are done with “living in ghettos and kissing up to Goyim”?

If not a (self-imposed) ghetto, what do you call the “security fence” that encloses your “settlements” and a large part of your entire country?

And do you really believe that Israel could continue its political existence if it did not “kiss up” to the goyim? Israel is the ultimate (and only real, in Zionist ugly terms) “galut Jew”.

Here is a leader of the goyim telling the Zionist leader that his State will be a pariah unless he listens to the goyim. And this Zionist leader fears this as much as a Nuclear Iran. Yet you continue to miss the boat.

          • Couldn’t say it better,
The problem is that even in their mind, those ppl Izionists) think that everything is done in name of ‘self-defence’
All settlements building is done in name of ‘self-defense’
            What a joke

            • Come on, you could have said it better. You might have said something to the effect that as a proudAmerican I understand the right to “self defense”. I disagree with Israel at times, but I understand her fears. As an America I am proud to back a true democracy in the mid-east. As a Jew I am proud of a country where so much torah learning is taking place.

      • You try to make it that only NOW is there this hostility from the Goyim because of a Jewish (Zionistic state). If you study Tenach you will find that even when there was a Mishkan and Mikdash they had trouble from the Goyim and this was not created by the Zionists. When they reached out to Hashem He saved us. Our deep problem is our not clinging enough to Hashem to save us from our enemies and our lack of Ahavas Yisroel.

      • Perhaps time for you to try something else. Your joy at perceived problems of Israel, yes Aryeh the country has a name, should make you stop and think. Is Elul the time to attack fellow Jews? Do you really want to join Rebbe 123 who thinks he can attack everyone by calling them “a bunch of atheists”.
To my friend who thinks he is a rebbe. Really? Anti-Semitism and hatred against the Jews skyrocketed like never before? Nothing happened to the Jews before the establishment of the State? I see, there was no holocaust. The Jews lived wonderful lives in Europe, the Mideast etc. Pogroms never existed. It was all a Zionist lie. No wonder you sign up with Iran and claim there was no holocaust.

    2. So everyone is happy. Israel’s economy is doing well. Tourism is at all time high. Israeli scientific and biomedical research is booming. Terrorists attacks are almost nil. Even Ramallah is doing brisk business. But we need to start the peace talks, says the USA, even though there is more peace in Israel than ever.
But peace is a code word for capitulating to Arab demands. The Arab world is in tormoil – the only place THERE IS peace, is in Israel, but Israel needs peace talks, supposedly. Now, Kerry is blackmailing Israel that if they do not capitulate to the demands, there will the a ‘deligitimization campaign on steroids”????
      Is this a joke?
Mr Prime Minister, get out while you can from these shenanigan talks. Get out while your economy is still good, while there are no bus bombings.
Is it just me, or does nobody remember Oslo and the horrendous years that brought Israel?
Wake up, Bibi, wake up!! These ‘peace talks” are no dangerous for Israel than any minefield. Kerry is not your friend. The US, under Obama, is not your friend. Get out now.

    3. What goes around comes around. Those who deligitmize Jews in order to legitimize attacking them, will they themselves be deligitmized and attacked. After the Knesset, the courts, and the media have put the “charedim are parasites” propaganda on steroids, and considering that the second largest party was elected on that platform…

    4. So whats the thrust , whats the zenith the peak of it all, well in truth , its all written on the wall
, the writing its done basically !
Yet what the funny part is , who is the ink who is the writing instrument with which enables the artist to paint his drawing or verbiage , isnt it the ones who never ever we learn from a past????

    5. This is precisly the danger with peace talks. If it doesn’t work (which it won’t) it emboldens the enemy. Thats why not sitting down to begin with is much smarter.

    6. The Kerry understanding is that the conflict between Israel and the so called Palestinians is the driving force for instability in the middle east, Yes-Egypt, Syria,Iran,Iraq, Afganistan, they are all tied to this enduring conflict-That is the stated Carry view….whether he is insane enough to actually believe his own words is immaterial…this is what the man spouts….it pours out of him like Heinz ketchup.

    7. George W. Bush already stated that U.S. policy acknowledged that the existence of settlement blocks is an irreversible fact. Obama is the first President to call them “illegitimate.” Israel is being blackmailed into submission. We need a good scandal to sidetrack Obama. Why didn’t the IRS scandal go anywhere?
