Jerusalem – Chief Rabbis Urge Prayers For Rain After Unusually Dry Season

    Rabbis stated that the extreme dry winter matches the definition of a drought under Jewish law.

    The public was asked that in addition to their regular prayers, to add prayers for rain and to recite specific psalms circulated to rabbis throughout Israel.

    According to the Israel Meteorological service, the winter has been the driest in 55 to 70 years in parts of the country. Zero precipitation has been recorded at some weather stations, while other stations have reported levels extremely below average.

    This lack of rain is a punishment from up above no clouds no rain,it can also mean up above from hashem because the hareidim dont wat to join the army like everyone else.

    The president of israel last week shimon peres demanded that gay marriage should be legal in israel. Play with G-d then you will find out who is boss. Iran nukes,no rain and very soon an imploding economy. We say it in kriyas shma.

    Not sure what all previous posters are talking about.

    Here we have the longest period in 55+ years, and our Cheif rabbis ask us to Daven extra for rain… And poof, there is rain, i am in Jerusalem as I type and its coming down hard.

    How wonderful G-d is.

    And thankfully not all knock some actually prayed.
