Jerusalem – “Shaye, go upstairs to the throne and say to the Almighty, this is enough!”

This was the cry heard by thousands of people who converged on the Bais Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem to pay final tribute to a prominent and beloved rabbi, Yeshayahu Akiva Krishevsky, 59, whose was brutally run down today by a Palestinian terrorist while waiting at a bus stop. Rabbi Krishevsly will be laid to rest today in Har Ha’Menuchos Cemetery.

According to eyewitness accounts, after driving his car into the waiting crowd at the bus stop, the terrorist from East Jerusalem then exited his vehicle and proceeded to further attack the wounded, including Rabbi Krishevsky, with an ax. A security guard is being credited with critically shooting the terrorist and saving many lives.

“He was God-fearing, careful about both the simple and difficult mitzvot, and was connected heart and soul to the Grand Rabbi from Pinsk-Karlin,” his friend said about him this morning, as they received the bitter news of this cruel attack.

Born in Jerusalem, Rabbi Krishevsky belonged to the Pinsk-Karlin chassidic sect. His father was Ha’Gaon Ha’Rav Reuven Krishevksy who was the rabbi of the Etz Chaim neighborhood. He was a known Talmud chacham in the yeshiva of Kochav M’Yaakov. Rabbi Yeshayahu Krishevsky was the author of a noted sefer on Torah, Jewish holidays, and Pirkei Avos entitled P’ninei Yeshayahu.

Those who knew Rabbi Krishevsky said he never made a bracha or even recited the Asher Yatzar prayer without ensuring there were people around him to answer amen. He was also very careful to never speak during davening.

Rabbi Krishvesky leaves behind a son, Schneuer Zalman, a Chabad chassid who resides in in Bnei Brak.

Tthe video shows the terrorist, Alaa Abu Jamal of Jabal Mukhaber, regaining his footing with a knife still in his hand following his initial attack and then being shoved towards a wall by a pedestrian, after which he is shot by the quick-thinking security guard.

terror strikes all Jews, charedim, secular, daati, when will BIBI stop talking and do something, Zoabi, Tibi, Oden are the new Arafats yet Bibi YOU pay their salary. BIBI has to go.

Bibi is doing the best possible job. He should immediately take forceful action against any Jewish extremists going up to har habayis that is one factor provoking these attacks. He should also freeze settlements until the situation is stabilized. Its not rewarding terrorists; its avoiding actions that are 100 percent certain to result in the shedding of Jewish blood.

Maybe it is time for all the people to take care of themselves instead of relying on the government, for it appears the government is too busy bowing to other countries and the UN so they won’t be called dirty names. Life is above all things self reliant and community cohesiveness is the only way for survival now.

    Wow, what a loss!
Is there any reason why that guy with the gun didn’t unload the whole magazine into the terrorist, but waited till he threw the weapon at him and got up twice?

I think the whole Williamsburg needs to unite and show support for Israel. I am sure if R’Aaron would start first R’ Zalmon would follow and vice- versa. We need to be true Beni Yisroel and support our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel, the land given by Hashem to our forefathers.

Why did one hasid just run into the scene and just stand there?

I don’t understand why the security guard didn’t pump him full of lead right away. Why does he even let him get up without shooting the chaya???

Why did the guy with gun hesitate to kill him??? Why was the filthy swine allowed to get up, instead of being killed immediately?! What’s wrong with this system where Israelis are afraid to shoot to kill???

I am not sure who posted about the arabs in the past 1500 years but they are dead wrong. Reality they were on good terms under Ottoman empire rule. Israel needs to close the har habayis for good, at least for awhile. We can’t go there anyway and the arabs should be punished. As far as settlements the land is ours and it should never stop. We can wait for har habayis when moshiach comes. In the mean time these animals to be hung, not shot. Its a different psychological death. Being executed after all the adrenaline subsides will deter any animal (unless their on drugs).
I am not sure which shiur I heard this in but in Russia apparently there is no coverage for car theft insurance. The penalty for stealing a car is 15 years for the first offense and if the person is dumb enough to do it again they get death by firing squad.
Israel should implement similar laws to protect themselves.
