New York – A Brooklyn State Senator has fired off a letter on Monday asking that Gov. Cuomo take the necessary steps to remove Donald Trump’s name from a yet-to-be-developed state park located in the northern suburbs.

In his letter to Cuomo, Sen. Daniel L. Squadron—who represents the 26th district—called Trump “unworthy” of having a state park named after him due to his “discriminatory” rhetoric and said that he is also introducing legislation aimed at forcing a name change.
Donald J. Trump State Park currently sits on an undeveloped 436-acre parcel of land owned by the state in the towns of Yorktown and Putnam Valley in Westchester and Putnam County.
Referring to the GOP frontrunner, Squadron wrote, “His discriminatory proposals are unbefitting of a campaign for our country’s highest office. Mr. Trump has shown that he is unworthy of having a New York State Park named in his honor. ”
“I request that you and State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation Commissioner Rose Harvey act to quickly remove ‘Donald J. Trump’ from any signage or public State Parks material associated with the park. I am also introducing legislation to replace the current name with a more appropriate one,” Squadron wrote.
Let’s name an important state park after Squadron. The Great Kills Garbage Dump.
