ISRAELNATIONALNEWS.com (http://bit.ly/1IbjGKH) reports that Naor arrived at the Kotel amid fanfare which included local religious and political leaders.
The celebration is attended by members of the medical team who treated him at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital’s pediatric wing.
Shalev’s young life was nearly ended on October 12 when he and another young Israeli were attacked by a pair of Arab cousins, 13 and 15, in the Pisgat Ze’ev neighborhood of Jerusalem.
At the ceremony, Shalev was called to read the weekly version of “Vayigash” from the Torah, after which Itai Betzalel, director of the Society for the Development of the Jewish Quarter, honored him with a copy of the Hurva prayer book.
Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, Meir Turgeman, told the audience that Shalov’s perseverance is proof positive that “Jerusalemites are strong and will not surrender to terror.”
