Manhattan, NY – Subway Surveillance Footage Leads To Arrest In Slashing Of Chasidic Man

    Manhattan, NY – A 24 year old homeless man has been arrested for the Friday morning slashing of a Chasidic men on a Greenwich Village subway platform.

    Marvin Taylor was arrested by police on Sunday for the robbery that left 55 year old Abraham Fekete, who was visiting from Israel, bleeding from his hands, face and neck.

    As previously reported on VIN News, Fekete had gone to visit friends in the Diamond District and got lost on the subway. He fell asleep on a bench at the Number 6 Bleecker Street-Broadway Lafayette subway station and woke up to find himself being robbed and then attacked with a knife.

    According to CBS News, it was the surveillance video released by the NYPD that led to the arrest at 11:30 Sunday night, with one viewer contacting police after recognizing the homeless man on the security footage.

    Police charged Taylor, who has a history of at least ten prior arrests, with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, as reported by ABC News.
