Brick, NJ – Three yeshiva students from Lakewood were sent to a New Jersey hospital early this morning after the vehicle that they were in was rammed by an SUV that ran a red light.

Police said that the incident took place just after 1 AM at the intersection of Route 70 and Chambersbridge Road. 20 year old Brianna Hollingsworth of Manchester, New Jersey was heading north on Chambersbridge Road in a 2000 Dodge Durango when she failed to stop for the red light at Route 70.
Hollingsworth slammed into a 2014 Altima driven by 19 year old Israel Shaliehsaboo which was traveling west on Route 70, causing the sedan to flip several times before coming to rest on the grass at the northwest corner of the intersection.
Shaliehsaboo and his two passengers, 19 year old Samuel Peres and 20 year old Yehuda Morgenstern, all Lakewood residents, were all treated at the scene before being transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. Hollingsworth was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick. According to the JSHN blog, Shaliehsaboo, Peres and Hollingsworth all sustained minor injuries, with Morgenstern’s injuries classified as serious.
The intersection was closed for two hours while the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit investigated the accident, assisted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Vehicular Safety Unit. The accident scene was photographed and processed by the Brick Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
It is unclear at this time if excessive speed, alcohol or any controlled substance played a part in the collision.
