Almost all of the banks were near Sixth Avenue, which is officially Avenue of the Americas. So the suspect has been nicknamed the Americas bandit.
He had a female accomplice during the last two robberies.
The FBI’s Michael Harpster says law enforcers believe the crimes will occur again.
Harpster says they’re concerned because a gun was displayed in the last three heists.
The robberies are occurring during hours when the banks are busy.
So far the robbers have made off with $9,500.
The FBI is offering $5,000 as a reward for information leading to an arrest.
