    Brooklyn, NY – An early morning bank robbery in Borough Park has police turning to the public for assistance in identifying the culprit who made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

    The incident took place at 8:50 this morning at the New York Community Bank Branch on 13th Avenue between 44th and 45th streets. A man described as a dark-complexioned African American, approximately 25 years old, between 5’10” and 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.

    The suspect fled the scene after receiving an unspecified amount of cash. He is said to have with brown eyes, black hair, a missing or chipped front tooth and was last seen wearing a hooded, dark blue coat. Just six months ago another robbery took place on the same block, with robbers breaking into the HSBC Bank by drilling a hole in the ceiling and then busting into the bank’s safety deposit vault, as previously reported on VIN News (http://bit.ly/2cRyJdK).

    Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect.
