REUTERS/Jim Lo Scalzo/PoolWashington – witter says a record 3 million tweets were sent about President Donald Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

The top tweeted moment of Trump’s speech was the Republican’s call to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. That was followed by Trump’s salute to Carryn Owens, the widow of Senior Chief William “Ryan” Owens, who was killed last month in Yemen.

Google says the top trending question users asked Tuesday night was “who wrote Donald Trump’s speech?” People also wanted to know how tall the president is and whether he’s a Democrat or a Republican.

The Twitter numbers make it the most tweeted speech by a president to Congress in the relatively short history of the platform. The previous mark was 2.6 million tweets for President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address in 2015. That speech had included a highly-tweetable moment, when Obama chided Republicans, who applauded the fact that he had no more political campaigns to run. Obama reminded them that he won both of his presidential runs.

    1. Last night’s speech by President Trump was a masterful exercise in politics. Today we see an outpouring of venom fro the world of media and democratic party circles. They don’t know what to do. The President’s words were precise, his word-smiths captured the tone and articulation that met the dignity of the Presidential office to which he was elected.

The media hurts itself when they now complain of it’s content, delivery, presentation and sincerity. Why not back off and say” We wish you luck and G-d speed on your mission. Do they want him to fail? Best of luck Mr. Trump. You have my vote.

      • There is an Indian saying “white man speaks with forked tongue” . Trump is a vain , crude individual [remarks about female genitalia] who is interested in his glory.

    2. it was the best speech ever and started with him condemning anti-Semitism something the previous fella wouldn’t do, I believe all shuls should say a bracha on Shabbos for this wonderful gift we have in this president.

    3. #2 comment shld bot be published on VIN. Report as inapropiate doesnt exist anymore? It comes as no surprise as VIN is unfiltered in its content as any secular site. Its sad. VIN should not accept explicit graphic language and most definitely not post it.

    4. To #2- American Indians never made the remark, which you stated they made. The latter remark, is an old urban legend that never took place. However, for you to keep bringing up a taped remark, which Trump made over 11 years ago, is in itself very crude. JFK, LBJ, Richard Nixon, Jimmie Carter, and Bill Clinton all used crude profanity (even worse than Trump), which has been well documented. We are not electing choir boys, or saints, when we elect a President.
