Brooklyn, NY – A prominent Borough Park rosh yeshiva and a highly respected luminary of the Torah world, Rabbi Avraham Yosef Rosenblum, passed away on the last day of Pesach at Maimonides Hospital after a lengthy illness at age 90.
Rabbi Rosenblum was born in Belgium and was one of the original students of Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman.
A son in law of Rabbi Yehuda Davis, he founded Yeshiva Shaarei Yosher together with Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Koppelman, the Rosh Yeshiva of Luzerne.
As previously reported in VIN News (http://bit.ly/2oqNNoo), the yeshiva was named after the well known sefer by the same name written by Rav Shimon Shkop and was originally located in Williamsburg before relocating to Borough Park.
Rabbi Rosenblum served as the rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva Shaarei Yosher for more than 50 years.
Rabbi Rosenblum’s funeral will take place at the yeshiva, 4102 16th Avenue, at 10 AM Wednesday morning, followed by burial in Monsey.
