Sources told VIN News that the 65 year old member of Flatbush’s Syrian community was returning home with family members on El Al Flight 07 after making a trip to Israel for a simcha.

The woman reportedly had an extensive medical history and had undergone a lengthy hospitalization this past winter.

Family members made a call from the cockpit at approximately 6 PM New York time to report the woman’s death which appears to be related to her medical condition.

Representatives of the medical examiner’s office, the Port Authority Police Department and Misaskim are all at JFK waiting for the plane, which is expected to arrive at 11:30 PM.

Passengers on the plane are expected to be delayed once the plane lands as authorities deal with the situation.

      • Really Paul? People die every day on El Al flights, Paul? Nebech on this 65 year old woman and her family. If you were one of the hundreds of people on this flight traumatized by this event and delayed in getting off you would be quiet. Incidentally, this flight had already been delayed from taking off from TLV for 6 hours even before this tragedy happened.

    1. I agree that 1) 65 is far from elderly these days. 85 maybe. And 2) I agree that this is a piece for a “slow news” day and as such, probably shouldn’t have been published.
