Representatives for ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox Broadcasting, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, MSNBC and NBC confirmed plans to air Trump’s address live at 9 p.m. Eastern.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer say Democrats should be given time to respond after Trump’s address.

“Now that the television networks have decided to air the President’s address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime,” they wrote in a joint statement Monday night.

Trump’s address will come in the third week of a partial government shutdown, the result of a stalemate with congressional Democrats over $5 billion the president wants for the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Democrats are refusing to pay for it, noting that he repeatedly promised that Mexico would foot the bill for it.

The speech is part of a public relations blitz by the president. Trump has scheduled a trip to the border Thursday to highlight his demands for a wall.

Ok when a Democrat is president than whenever he makes a speech the Republicans should be given equal time too.

There are hundreds of thousands of government workers that are on furlough, that might decide to look for another job if this keeps up. Also, government offices are closed, payments from the government such as social security and food stamps are on hold, ect. And if the government shut down continues, more government offices can run out of money and it can be a bigger mess. Worse of all, there is no end in sight. Yet, the media is not really talking about it. They talk about it as 8f it I just another news item. As it is obvious from the way that they are attacking President Trump continuously, they follow the will of the Democrats. This is showing that the Democrats are trying to keep the government closed just to make the President look bad. Who cares about the hundreds of thousands of people that are missing their paycheck. Such dirty politics.

My vote goes to the first comment. And the second comment has a good point from which may be inferred that the “mainstream” media were already long presenting the Democrat side, and thus, this Trump presentation is de facto just a response to the pro-Democrat publicity given by the media.

Why are the networks wasting time on this debate?

Mexico is paying for the wall. The Mexican government budget is none of our business! Why are the Liberals and the media mixing in? Are they trying to start an international incident? How would we respond if Mexico started telling us how to spend our tax dollars?

We should mind our own business. Hey, Mr. President! Orange you going to get your own stormy affairs in order before getting involved with foreigners?

Trumpf loves exaggerated facts, bloviated stats and ‘biggly’ adjectives. On Sunday he’ll own the all-time number one numero uno record for shutting down the US Govt. 22 days! FEH
