Faisal Abbas wrote in the Arab News on Wednesday that while the cards have been stacked against the Palestinians, Kushner’s plan just may reverse the situation and make peace more possible.

The column ran as Palestinians hold protests to mark the 71st anniversary of the “nakba,” or “catastrophe,” which commemorates their mass displacement during the war that led to Israel’s creation.

Abbas wrote there’s a “strong counter argument that it is time to think outside the box” and added: “The Palestinians should negotiate hard, and then take what they can to secure a nation state for future generations.”

Look, since there is only going to be a one-state solution, only one state has to approve this unseen plan.

    Waste of time.

The Pals are never going to accept a proposal for a state that doesn’t give them all of the West Bank, all of Gaza, at least East Jerusalem WITH the Old City (and the Jews OUT of the OId City) and the “right of return”. Since these demands are obviously non-starters, the whole idea is dead in the water. Besides, Pal leaders don’t want a state because they’re making out like bandits by taking international aid and putting it in their pockets. They have a great set up now – money is coming in and they don’t actually have to govern. They just keep people living in “refugee camps” for decades (even if the people living there now weren’t even born yet in 1947), stir up anger and laugh all the way to the bank. Arafat kept his wife in a luxurious Paris apartment while his constituents lived in the dirt. Why give up that gravy train?
