“I have just instructed the Secretary of the Treasury to substantially increase Sanctions on the country of Iran!” tweeted the president, without specifying what or whom the financial penalties would target.

JNS has reached out to the U.S. Treasury Department for comment.

Trump’s tweet came four days after Iran attacked two Saudi Aramco oil facilities on Sept. 14.

The more than 20 cruise missiles and drones that hit the oil facilities were launched from southern Iran, reported CBS News, citing a senior U.S. official.

Tensions between Washington and Iran have intensified since the latter withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal in May 2018, reimposing sanctions lifted under it, along with enacting new financial penalties.

This summer saw Iran seizing foreign oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, adding to the quagmire.

PM Netanyahu responded favorably to the announcement. “Iran’s aggression has increased of late, including in the Gulf, and this is precisely the time to increase pressure and sanctions,” said Netanyahu. “I am pleased that President Trump has done exactly this.”

Sanctions? Iran wipes out half of Saudi oil production and weak Trump does more sanctions? If he was Prez on Dec 7 1941 he would do sanctions on Japan? The saudis are good at murdering journalists but not at defending their fakakta country.

Why should the US always fight other countries wars? Unless, the Saudis are chicken when it comes to fighting back at Iran.

I think the only reason Iran had the chutzpah to attack Saudi Arabia is because of Trump’s limp response when they blew our own drone out of the sky. As always, tough talkin’ Dump ain’t gonna do nothing since he was always a coward from his Vietnam days.

Trump has boasted that the Saudis have bought billions of dollars worth pf weapons from us for cash. Let the Saudis unleash their weapons on Iran. That will require no American involvement or expense and it will provide a real test of American weapons of war. And after it’s over the Saudi’s will have to spend more to reequip their military thus helping our economy. I’m surprised the Stable Genius didn’t think of this.

Sanctions are sure to work this time for sure! Not like last time.

I see the President is begging for a meeting with the Iranians. They cannot be bothered.
