NEW JERSEY (VosIzNeias) — Disturbing video footage has surfaced that appears to show a NJ State Trooper stopping Monsey Hatzolah members from administering medical care at an MVA on the Garden State Parkway.

The Monsey Hatzolah members were responding to an overturned vehicle.

The video begins with the officer yelling at the Hatzolah members to “get off the road” as they are “blocking traffic.” They were the only EMT’s on location and were in midst of assisting the patient who specifically requested care from Hatzolah.

The officer then starts yelling at them to “move their vehicle off the road.” According to reports, there were absolutely no private cars on scene belonging to Hatzolah members. The only vehicle on scene was the ambulance. The Monsey ambulances are all up to date on their inspections and have stickers proving they can legally transport.

The officer keeps yelling to get the vehicle off the road at various Hatzolah members who tell him that they are not the driver. The officer gets increasingly agitated until he jumps into the ambulance himself and drives it off the road while the front and back doors are still wide open.

All this takes place as the Hatzolah members explain to the officer that there are no other EMT’s on location and he’s causing patient care to be delayed.

The officer then ignores repeated requests for his name and badge number as he continues to yell “get out of here” and “move your vehicle or it will be impounded.”

I hope this gets reported to governor Murphy and beyond. He should be suspended if not fired for delaying patient care. This is not ok. The first responders are legally allowed and responsible to take care and an officer has no right to delay care. I just dont understand why the patient didnt demand to go with them. I had very good experience with nj officers on the gsp when I had an emergency – there are some compassionate heroes who go above and beyond! A video like this makes my insides shake with rage!

We had some idiots like this in NYC ticketing Hatzolah vehicles during a call last year.

He should immediately be fired!
What gives him the right to delay emergency care to a patient and what gives him the right to move their ambulance!!!???
Is it cause they are Jewish!!!???
Let’s see how long it takes the authorities in NJ to act on this!

A few years ago I had a car fire on the Palisades Pky. near the GW. One of the first officers on the scene was so nice he even told me if I want to sit down I can sit in his car. After the fire was out and we were waiting for the tow truck a new officer came to the scene he was so rude and mean. The contrast was amazing.

weird, but we should wait in judgement until we hear the officer’s side of the story….

Why nowadays everything is it about race or religion decrimination, get real and let us know the trooper side. Must be a logical explanation

A personal lawsuit should be filed by the patient against the officer and his superiors. That will send a message!

Thank goodness for a professional agency like the NJSP. It takes true heroes to do their job. They are a select few. The candor shown by the trooper in video is exemplary. He did not have to tolerate the disrespect and ,more importantly, refusal of his direction at the scene.
He did a favor by moving the rig and not having it towed.
Id like to thank the NJSP for their difficult work.

Follow the orders of a police officer! Don’t argue with a police officer! PERIOD! In the time the whole ambulance squad argued with the officer any single one of them could have moved the ambulance and parked it in accordance with State Law. I can picture the way it was parked closing down one side of the Garden State. Did I mention FOLLOW the orders of a police officer. If he was wrong a Judge will decide that not us. That is the way it is. WE is the first word of America. We all have to follow the same law. And that is not Talmud Torah when a Police Officer tells you to do something in the middle of a highway. Be a Mensch and listen for once. And stop it here and don’t spend tax money on this issue. They were wrong. No discussion. Unless you want Antisemites to disregard the law and do what ever they want to do. The you have it your way both ways doesn’t work for long.Maybe that has something to do with the rise in hate crimes. Some of our people refuse to be equal with everyone else. That makes Goyim and the Non Frum Angry.

Why was it so difficult to move the vehicle? The Officer tells you to move it so move it. It would have taken less time to move it then to argue and ask for the Officer’s name and badge number. How many people are in one ambulance?

The brave and heroic hatzola volunteers should have completely ignored the trooper’s unlawful order.
People like Boruch Mordechai ben Shimon Mordechai should have a card with them at all times informing hatzola that should he ever need their services, only hatzola volunteers who meet the stellar standards of, in his words, the Goyem and non frum Jews whom, according to Boruch Mordechai ben Shimon Mordechai, consistently have impeccable kiddos at all times, be permitted the privilege of attending to his medical needs.

In the world of 2019 there can be five sides to every story… one side, the other side, rumor, video evidence (subject to interpretation) and ultimately the truth.
It’s always the wisest choice to obey the directions of the police officer on scene.

im all behind hatzalo responding to calls especially if they are licensed to do so but it seems there were firemen on scene who are all certified emt’s
so it seemed as if there were medical emergency personal to treat the victims but rather a power play on the part of nj trooper not letting hatazlo work the scene

Unfortunately I have experienced harzoloh parking their buses in the middle of the street and completely blocking traffic even though there were wide driveways/fire hydrant spots available. It is unbelievable chutzpah to block a highway Lane when there is a shoulder available. Harzoloh was wrong here.

Wasn’t there a similar incident on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, last year, involving a Hatzalah Ambulance and the Palisades Parkway idiotic cops, refusing to let them tend to injured at the scene?

I wasn’t there so I have no opinion on the matter but I am curious to know how do so many people who weren’t there to see the entire incident from the beginning can so sure they know who was right and who was wrong?

Just to be fair, the officer wanted the ambulance off the scene, not because it is a hazard only because he wanted the EMTs and their ambulance away from the scene, he then physically removed the patient from the care of the EMTs.
He refused to have a discussion with the EMTs, only kept on telling them to leave the scene.

To all those that believe that the EMTs acted inappropriately, try to imagine being the patient, possibly badly injured as the mechanism of injury was bad and the patient seems shaken up and pale. Would you also be OK with the behavior seen on the clips?

The EMTs were only concerned about doing their job and caring for the patient, the officer seems to have an ego and placed himself in a position that he does not belong. He has no business removing the patient from the care of the EMTs.

Furthermore, there was no other EMS on location, the firefighters are not EMTs, nor do they have the capability of transporting the patient.

While the EMTs should have complied with the request for moving the ambulance, this does not change the overall situation in which the officer acted extremely inappropriately and interfered with caring for an injured patient.

I’m an EMT and we were always taught that you never argue with the law. Just document the incident so that if there are future lawsuits, you can CYA. With that said, I think the trooper was asking for it. He must know what kind of political power Hatzalah has and was just asking for it.

For all bashing the cop or Hatzolah I decided to do a search to see if there are guidelines on how an ambulance should park at the scene of an accident. This is what I found. This is just a paragraph from a long article about this subject. Each agency has its job to do, but I think when you have an injured patient laying there the cop should have let go of his ego.

Unfortunately, there have been incidents where different agencies have different viewpoints on how to manage the scene. Highway Patrol sometimes wants to keep the road open regardless of the safety issues it may compromise.

The Officer was totally wrong to stop aid the a person or persons in the MVA. First this video should be sent to the Gov. as well as the Attorney General. This Officer needs to be talked to about how he is towards people and then FIRED. I spoke to 5 different law enforcement agents by law the Officer should have told his name and badge#. The State should look at his dash cam and listen to his audible which the Mic is usually on belt. He is probably Anti-Semitism.

What everyone seems to be missing here is that Hatzolah from NY is not allowed to provide care in NJ. They have received numerous warnings from the NJDOH about this. They can only provide care as good samaritans if they happen to come across a scene in NJ. They are not NJ EMTs and thus cannot be dispatched to NJ as per NJ State regulations.

Wrong! Check your facts before commenting stupidity.
A NY EMT may not be authorized to officially respond in NJ, but can indeed treat in NJ.
Furthermore, rockland hatzoloh is licensed as of recently to respond, treat and transport in NJ.
@DT hatzolah is an all volunteer agency, non of the members are paid. Some just soft bill insurance and a lot of times don’t even get that.
Either way, it doesn’t justify this troopers hostility and disgusting attitude towards medical personal. He needs some serious help.
