EL AL is bidding farewell to the Boeing 747 Jumbo fleet, “Queen of the Sky” marking the end of a historic chapter in Israel aviation.

Flight LY1747 from Rome to Tel Aviv departed on Sunday November 3, 2019 at 10am local time (11am Israel time). In honor of the event it operated on a one-time historic flight path.

This flight path created a “sky painting” of a Boeing 747 two hours after takeoff when flying above southern Cyprus that was broadcast live throughout the world in cooperation with Flightradar24.

The Boeing 747-400 fleet has been replaced by the new EL AL 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which are being utilized on most U.S. Israel nonstop routes.

how sad ! the so-called Dreamliner many of us call the nighmareliner – so narrow, so flimsy, no place to stretch one’s legs. och n’ vey. I personally switched to delta for those reasons. we want to support Israel, but not with garbage like the Dreamliner. sorry.

I actually love the new planes. I’m going in 3 weeks and actually paid 100 more than delta was because of the dreamliner

I like the new planes too. Not that they are any better necessarily but mainly because they’re new. With the old planes I knew they were older than me and I was starting to feel that they we’re having a hard time lifting off. Last time I flew and we had the Dreamliner it felt much safer. I’m going in 5 weeks and looking forward

the 747 was one of the most successful airplanes ever. large roomy and comfortable.

BTW, I don’t think the photos are apropos for a religious site….

the Dreamliner is a great aircraft. you will find your self less fatigued, more relaxed, and less jet-lagged, even after a long flight. The ventilation system is the main reason, exchange of fresh air and high tech air filtering.
