The college years are such a challenging and formative time in a young adult’s life. Life paths chosen, friendships and relationships made, values developed.

Chabad of Brooklyn College is there for our kinderlach– the Jewish students–with warmth, acceptance, gentle and fun Yiddishkeit, personal guidance and so much more.

Yeshiva and day school students returning from Israel, kids with no substantial Jewish background; every Jewish student can find a warm and welcoming home that is always open.

Students are invited to explore their Jewish identity, participate in exciting social events and network with other Jewish friends. Weekly Shabbat dinners,  personal and group learning sessions, chavrusa style learning for former yeshiva students, Sinai Scholars for dynamic introduction to Jewish thought, are just a few of the many classes and services offered; a few of the many ways that Rabbi and Mrs. Raichik are always available for students.

Many students seek them out for personal mentoring and conversations about their needs and challenges and relish the open door and homey atmosphere  in the midst of a stressful college environment.

Students speak:

Chabad has really changed and impacted me in so many ways. When I first came to Chabad, it was at a Shabbat meal. I was introduced to so many interesting people who shared so many similarities with me.

We all wanted to have a good time but also learn more about Judaism. Whether it is when Rabbi Raichik tells his interesting stories, or I’m learning about different Jewish ideas in my Sinai Scholars class– Chabad is not just a regular organization but it is like a family, where everyone supports you and really pushes you to be a better person.

From the time I’ve spent at Chabad, I feel I am much more proud and connected to my religion. I always have fun at Chabad and know there will always be a place for me here.”

– Mike K.

“I started doing Shabbat every Friday and that has been a huge part of my life. There are people who understand you, like Riky and Rabbi who would do anything for you. “

– Amanda P.

“Coming back from Israel is a big change. College and yeshiva are two totally different worlds. A couple months ago Rabbi Raichik reached out to me and asked me to join the Wednesday night Chavruta Program. What Chabad has to offer is so crucial for my growth because college is not the greatest place to grow spiritually. Knowing that you’re going to learn once a week, hang out with these amazing guys and build long-lasting relationships really makes a difference. Every week I just look forward- when is Wednesday coming…?

– Meir L.

” I started doing weekly learning with the Rebbetzin… no matter what we’re talking about, Halacha, keeping Tznius, life, Jewish holidays, anything; I always learn something new that I didn’t even know about before. “

-Isabelle G.
