“The word “allegedly” was used a lot. That’s correct and responsible reporting.

I don’t understand how you have the disdain and chutzpah to go and post straight up lashon harah or Richilus. I’m no talmud chacham so I don’t know all the halachos but there were many stories you guys put up which seem very wrong to publicize in a “religious” news site.

Here we go again. Please remove this story, you don’t have facts and “alleged” does not belong on a frum site. This is rechilas, loshon harah and gambling with shiva medirah gihenam. For anybody that comments negatively__ remember_ Hashem knows who you are.
Don’t play G-D now and control the yetzer harah to bash because we know nothing.
You never know if you or your family will need Hashem’s protection from evil tongues.

When u run to the cops as a first option when it should be the last . U end up on vin because once you go to police u have no control
Before u scream, factually did the gedolei hador rav moshe, rav pam,rav ruderman call the cops and they were involved in plenty of stories maybe in an extreme single story. Now we can debate why they didnt

The word allegedly is a universal term used to describe a case before conviction. Law enforcement obviously had enough information to post this on the news. And what’s worse than lashon hara is abusing a child. That’s what’s sickening!

I’m not a rav but let’s just say my rav advised me very specifically based on this post. It’s very nogeah for some and if you don’t know why you are lucky. Been there done that a year ago with my vulnerable child…and this isn’t an unfamiliar name to us. The rav didn’t tell at me that I believed it, he gave me specific instructions..I’m not believing but you better believe I’m erring on the side of caution..with your own kid it’s never enuf caution. I hope this is a fse accusation and I feel terrible for this person whether it’s true or not..I’m not saying it should be posted, just saying you’re not rabbis

Vin should also remove (and prevent in the first place), all comments which contain filthy and obscene language; it should do this on its own volition, without being prompted. Somehow, I wonder if Vin even monitors this site, or doesn’t care?

Just saying that when we experienced our terrible saga last year we went straight to the cops with tremendous backing of gedolim. Even my neighbors don’t know til today our story..so there’s no connection..was a minor maybe that’s why…but stop judging ..bh u don’t understand!

If I lived in Passaic and had a young child I would want to know that someone in my town was charged with 4 counts of sexual abuse. I hope the people at VIN aren’t intimidated by the bloggers on this site. It isn’t the first time I heard about this story. It also appeared in the Rockland Journal News.

Truthfully that once someone is arrested news becomes public and unfortunately we need to be protecting our kids from dangerous people within our community
The other issue that I have is that VIN should make a special box for special stories for all sexual related issues cause some parents allow watching one or two sites with kids together as a trusted kosher website and to educate them somehow and upto certain age these kids don’t need to know anything about these things so it can get somehow bumpy in ur face

I think VIN is trying to do it’s due diligence in protecting our children. I hope to God this guy is innocent. However, he just as likely may not be. Countless children have suffered unimaginable harm because of “tzadikim” like all the above commenters who insisted on keeping things hush because it’s “loshon hara.” This culture of silence that was once so prevelant in our communities destroyed so many innocent children and their families. Pedophilia is a disease and these people strike again and again unless they’re outed. I don’t know that VIN is wrong for publicizing this. If he is a predator, it may give other victims an opening to come forward and will likely prevent more kids from becoming prey.
I think people just need to remember on a personal level to let this guy have his day in court and not rush to judge him. Hopefully be didn’t do it and will be exonerated.

ERCSD,
As one prosecutor once said, ” You can indict a ham sandwich.”
True, this is a charge, but that’s all it is until due process takes over. Innocent people have been executed over charges that were proven false. Learn the gemara Sanhedrin and study the great lengths to which justice must go when an individual is accused even if there’s cause.both sides haven’t yet presented their cases. Can you wait?

Arrests are not, and should not be secret. I live in a country where some arrests are not talked about. Public knowledge of police activity keeps the police honest.

Further, letting the public know of these chargers is a way for an innocent man to rally his defense.

Little good comes from secrecy,

There is a very low rate of false accusations in these types of cases, especially those involving minors.

there is a big nafka minah between seeking it elsewhere and abusing a child, and still the achrayus is on the man not the woman – to be fair it isn’t that women want to be “frummer than the Torah” but rather they are busy maintaining the household and often working etc. and they are understandably tired – but again, this has absolutely zero connection to in any way justifying child abuse – it is really sick to make this connection in any manner. I work in a prison with tons of rapists and molesters and plenty of them said they did it because they were mad at their wife or something. Do you realize how stupid and evil it is to say such a thing?!

To all of those screaming “lashon hara”, there is toeles in being mefarsem if there is raglayim ledavar. I do not know if there is or not, but the overblown turning of agadic material about lashon hara into actual halachah can sometimes be damaging if one doesn’t know the actual halachos. There is a story that the Chofetz Chaim made a political statement to someone on a train and the guy didn’t know it was the Chofetz Chaim. The guy said “I read this sefer Chofetz Chaim, and I am sure the author of this sefer would be upset about what you say”. The Chofetz Chaim said “I saw that sefer once as well, and on the following pages he explains why what I said is not lashon hara”. I am not paskening this case, but this reaction of “you are all going to hell” is am haaratzus.

It is quite sickening that there are more people on this site defending this alleged abuser than supporting the alleged victim. For some reason, I, and I hope the rest of you were never charged with these alleged crimes. So the mere fact that this individual was charged with these alleged crimes, speaks volumes. If someone in your shul, child’s school, child’s camp, or neighborhood, was charged with these alleged crimes, and you had young kids, wouldn’t you want to know? In addition, this story was already reported in numerous media outlets before VIN picked up this story, and therefore was already public knowledge. As far as reporting this alleged abuser to the authorities is concerned, if any “mandatory reporter” had a reason to suspect that this child was abused, they would be legally required to report it to the authorities in NYS. “Mandatory reporter” includes school officials, camp directors, doctors, therapist, etc. So the whole debate about reporting these alleged crimes to the authorities, with or without Rabbinic consultation is completely futile; it’s the law in most instances, and the proper and morale thing to do in all instances. This is the 21st century, and it’s about time that we stop protecting and defending the abuser, and start supporting the victim!

Sad, but how right you are! There is so much social pressure to have the latest look and be fashion forward, which is ALL FAKE! This very scary rat race to the bottom is causing so much insecurity, untold marital friction and DEBT. When a woman comes home from all this pressure, she’s so stressed out and the last thing she wants to think about is how she looks. Sad, sad, and so destructive to a marriage.

If the Yakov Horowtz fiasco has taught us anything, it’s to check the facts first. Defendant Horowitz has already admitted to lying about the Plaintiff on Social Media, paying media people to spread fake news about him, and is going to be shelling out millions of shekels to a guy who is probably innocent anyway – railroaded by Hynes and his fake convictions. Horowitz even admitted his crooked cop, who himself is currently being sued by Jesse Dailey, lied during his testimony. I think it’s OK to report the arrest, but we should make sure to say it is alleged and then update the story with the facts as they come in. More than 95% of the time, kids are actually abused by people they know – not the stranger from down the block. 60% of the time, it’s by people in the same peer group – like other kids.

This guy has been arrested and charged with assaulting a minor.
While there is always the possibility that he is found innocent, They have not arrested you or I for these things; 100s of people dont just get arrested and charged with accusations of these like cops giving out parking tickets. There is no smoke without fire.

There was a post which actually seemed to blame the wife(if he is even married LOL). many have responded by questioning if he had a wife and injecting a bit of common sense into the matter.
To those that seem to complain that their wives are not as attractive as models or others you see on the street; I ask, is your wife tired and busy caring of your kids? As Jews the belief is that kids come with the cooperation of the father. Having a child is not solely up to the Mother.

Theresa Schuler, what kind of a person are you? Those who may have been the victims of sexual assault, and a three year old at that, deserve to have their privacy protected. It is certainly the law for minors. VIN did a great job using the word allegedly as well as posting a disclaimer at the end of the article.

Please please please report any act of sexual assault to the authorities. Don’t further harm the victims and then them into pariahs, while giving leniency and understanding to those that abuse our children in the most heinous way.

How would you feel if the victim was your child?!

Funny how people jump to protect the accused but don’t give a hoot about the victim. And for you simpletons who say we care for the victims, we just don’t want to ruin someone’s name, the point is what you find more upsetting. You are more worried about loshon hara than you are about kids getting raped. That’s pretty sick. I’ll go to hell to protect a kid every day.

His arrest is public info..VIN did nothing wrong by publishing this fact.

He’ll get his day in court and if found guilty Im sure there will be many who will scream to the heavens that its anti-semitism.

Jury will decide…and if you’re really upset should he be found guilty, you can ask the president to pardon him.

In fact he may become your next Tzaddick ala Rubashkin.

Convicted abusers are tinif…they ought to be expunged and chased out of the community.

To all you saying they should not post this article, what happens if this guy reoffends (assuming he is guilty in the first place) and it’s your little brother, nephew, student, cousin, son etc (or the female version of those)? Yes, MOST abusers are the last people anyone would suspect but they also are MUTLIPLE offendors. Informing the public that there is probable cause that he molested a child is a public service announcement and one that should be LAUDED by those who claim they love children.

In terms of peer-to-peer abuse, it happens a lot more than you think and can be every bit as damaging as adult on child abuse. I know this being a victim of it myself, from the tender age of 9. The amount of pain and suffering I have gone through, still go through and will always go through can not be encapsulated in a lifetime of talking, let alone a single blog comment.

To those who say the wife should dress nicer, I ask you this:
If a person robbed a bank because he couldn’t get a loan, would you even bring up the loan denial as an excuse or justification? The same principle applies here. Someone who is not attracted to their wife may or may not cheat. That is not what he was arrested for, though. He was arrested for molesting a child below 13 years old. What his lack of attraction towards his wife has to do with him committing a horrible, heinous crime – the likes of which people are rarely falsely accused of – is beyond me.

Bad Jews in the news is bad news for the Jews- so you say sha shtill! Don’t scream about lashon hara if the parents of the child had enough courage to go and report someone who fits the description of a rodef. I can’t believe there are still people in the community that want victims to suffer in silence and the community to continue in lockstep with rose colored glasses- seeing nothing and knowing nothing.
