JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Jewish Force leader Itamar Ben-Gvir, whose decision to run in Monday’s elections may cost the right-wing the majority it needs to form a government, declared in a press conference Wednesday night that he is willing to withdraw from the electoral race if Prime Minister Netanyahu fulfills a number of conditions, including cancelling the 1993 Oslo accords, changing the composition of the committee for the appointment of judges, removing control of the Temple Mount from the Waqf and evacuating the illegal Arab settlement Khan Al Ahmar before this coming Shabbat. Netanyahu had promised to evacuate the settlement, situated between Jerusalem and Maale Adumim, even before the April 2019 elections in accordance with a Supreme Court decision declaring it illegal.

Ben Gvir stressed that if Netanyahu does not comply with these conditions his party would continue its run for the Knesset.

At the press conference Ben-Gvir stated that “We know that Jewish Force is the only party which will protect the right. We are the only ones who make demands which are ideological. In light of the Prime Minister’s claims that there is a right-wing government without us, we in Jewish Force are ready to accept the challenge and we hereby inform the Prime Minister that if he so deeply cares about a right-wing government, if he meets the conditions which are the key things we want to promote in the Knesset, Jewish Force can withdraw. We do not want and will not take even one shekel. We do not want any jobs.”

The press conference was seemingly a response to continued attacks by the Likud on Jewish Force. Prime Minister Netanyahu urged voters Wednesday not to vote for parties which will not cross the electoral threshold, noting that the two seats that Jewish Force might waste are the ones that could be missing for a right-wing victory in the election.

The election is in a couple of days. It seems a little late for this sort of thing.
