Interior Minister Aryeh Deri responded sharply to Weiss’s remark, stating on his Twitter account that “it is shocking that in the Jewish state, Dana Weiss interrupts the prime minister of Israel in such a snide and contemptuous manner. This in addition to Weiss’s claim that an anonymous “government official” said the Chareidim are causing an increase in corona infection. Weiss should be roundly condemned for her words.”

It is simply a sad fact that in Boro Park, Monsey, Kiryas Joel, and Lakewood Chareidim are disproportionately not heeding calls for separation and sheltering in place…so much so that in Boro Park Hatzolah leaders there are posting appeals for people to stop congregating. But not in Eretz Yisroel?!
