Israel Unveils 80 Billion NIS Aid Package, New Stringencies On Public Gatherings

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israel unveiled an unprecedented 80 billion NIS aid package in order to help the flailing economy, which has seen unemployment rise to an unprecedented 24% and numerous small businesses suffering from inequity due to the stringent lockdown on the economy over the past month.

At the same time however the government added numerous further stringencies to the lockdown in Israel in order to continue to combat the scourge of coronavirus.

The new regulations include:

a) Weddings can only include immediate family

b) No prayer can take place in any public zone

c) Workers must sign a daily declaration regarding their health

d) Workforce will be reduced to 15% of regular size

e) Funerals can have up to 20 people, Bris -up to 10 people

f) People cannot gather in groups of more than 2 people together

g) No family visits before or during Pesach, each family should celebrate alone
