The Mossad, which has been tasked with securing medical equipment from abroad from unspecified countries amid worldwide shortages, also succeeded in obtaining 25,000 N95 respiratory masks, 20,000 virus test kits, 10 million surgical masks, and 700 overalls for ambulance workers who usually carry out the initial testing for the virus.
The N95 masks will offer superior protection against the virus for medical workers who have been on the front line in the past few weeks, with significant numbers becoming infected themselves or being isolated after exposure to the contagious virus.
Meanwhile Israeli medical equipment supplier Yad Sarah has also been procuring equipment and has bought 2000 home hospital units, ventilators and respirators to be used in the battle against coronavirus.
