BNEI BRAK (VINnews) — Yaakov Wieder, a member of the Bnei Brak city council, addressed government ministers and warned them that “we are plunging into a humanitarian catastrophe’ worse that coronavirus.” Wieder demanded that the government immediately initiate a program which will provide the existential needs of residents:

“Tens of thousands of families which even routinely have economic difficulties are now trapped at home without food, money, medical treatment, emotional support and other basic requirements. There is no bank credit, no Gemachs (free loan societies) and worse still- the municipality has collapsed and nobody is taking responsibility,”Wieder claimed.

He added that “I receive hundreds of requests a day from people stuck in their homes with their children. They have no way to pay rent, no way to pay for food and in general the world is collapsing on their heads. Police are restricting entry to and exit from the city to essential needs. This is a pressure cooker which is boiling over and we can’t let it blow up.”

You have lived a life of poverty of your own choosing…The Jews went down to Egypt when they were in need of food. You are in Israel. Had you wanted you could have become wealthy. Today you beg for everyday things. You are corrupt.

When Jewish soldiers go into Meah Shearim to enforce social distancing, you’ve taught your children to call them NAzis. You have taught them well. G-d is watching…

In the 7 good years you prepare for the bad ones. You always thought that secular Israeli society which you despise would always be there for you.

You reap what you sow. You never gave . You always took. In Israel which G-d gave us, he never told us we can just sit back and relax. The average Jew in Temple times worked hard…Today the chickens have come home to roost.

    Enjoy the ride…G-d is watching..

Help them now, yes. And when the crisis passes, cut them off. Time they took responsibility for themselves and their choices same way that others do.

Israel is not as rich as USA. They’re taking good care of the people as much as pissible. Their health system costs Israelis almost nothing . Stop it.

You don’t work, you don’t have savings, you spit on the average Israeli who Works so hard to make your life possible and now you are mad you aren’t getting more. Take take take take take. And not even a thank you. And who is mad the government is “cheap”. Services are not for free. Someone has to work to provide them. Actually work. Someone has to harvest the crops. Someone has to make the medicine.

Rather than saying “Good for you , you deserve this pain” wouldn’t now be the time to show all yidden that even nonfrum Israelis are truly rachmonim bnei rachmonim who are trying to stem this mageifa? Imagine the pain H-shem must feel listening to self righteous people lecturing people in dire need! A house is burning – now is the time for rescue! Analysis comes later – H-shem yerachem!
