THE FOLLOWING WAS SIGNED BY ALL 4 LAKEWOOD POSKIM AND NUMEROUS LAKEWOOD DOCTORS.

The Poskim signed were Rabbi Yaakov Forchheimer, Rabbi Shmuel Felder, Rabbi Shmuel Meir Katz, and Rabbi Osher Chaim Lieberman

The doctors were Dr. Jonathan Cohen, Dr. Shlomo Aharon Fenster, Dr. Dovid Friedman/Chemed, Dr. Chone Chaim Lebowith, Dr. Daniel Roth, Dr. Robert Shanik

  1. Do not travel to family for Pesach.  This applies to the 1st days, Chol HaMoed, and last days.  Any questions about your own individual situation, please speak to your doctor.
  2. Do not visit any public places whatsoever.  Do not visit parks and waterfronts over Chol HaMoed.
  3. Do not make any Yom Tov minyanim. This includes backyard minyanim.
  4. Keep any shopping trips to an absolute bare minimum – consolidate any shopping into as few trips as possible and observe full social distancing when going out.
  5. No celebrations or events may be held. There have been too many such events that WERE COMPLIANT with the law, and which still resulted in terrible Chillul Hashem.
  6. Do not make any fires for Sreifas Chometz – not public fires or private fires. To be mekayem mitzvas biur chometz this year, as per the guidelines of the BMG Poskim, dispose of a kzayis size piece through crumbling and flushing it away.

AN EARLIER release OF THE SAME DAY stated as follows:

  1. DO NOT TRAVEL ANYWHERE FOR PESACH – make Pesach in your own home. Do NOT go to parents, inlaws, children, friends or relatives.- even if they too live in Lakewood. Stay home. This applies even if you have been in quarantine for 14 days. This is a matter of absolute PIKUACH NEFESH.
  2. Do not travel out of Lakewood either – that is the same absolute PIKUACH NEFESH. Most Kehillos are NOT allowing any visitors, most states have legal travel restrictions and some will arrest people who travel out of state and who do not enter a BRAND NEW 14 day total quarantine (including keeping away from contact with family members) on arrival to the other state.

These restrictions apply totally to all out of town travel, with no exceptions

A question as an outsider: Are these 4 people the Poskim of just the yeshiva BMG, or the entire town? This was the correct decision. The rabbonim of our community came to the exact same conclusion over a week ago.

Might want to add do not take children along when shopping. They may be inapparent carriers of the virus and can infect others. If you can shop at outside markets or go shopping with few people in the store, do it. Use hand sanitizer often while shopping.

What about Brit Milahs? Are they to be postponed? Also, I assume that Yidden are also prohibited from visiting someone who is sitting Shiva?

Bris milahs are being performed with just the parents and the mohel present. Shiva is being conducted by zoom.

Just be aware that non Jewish people are observing the outside minyanim, they don’t know nor understand your halachos, but are talking and sometimes videoing it. You’re living in galus. Why is that so difficult to understand. ? Ifa couple of non Jewish men and women asked me about it, you can be sure others are doing the same and it ‘s in negative terms.
You’re in galus territory, not in Jerusalem and it’s going viral.
Is that enough of a reason????????

So in other words davening with a minyan IS A SEKONAH (and Isur) for the Orthodox Jews we believe Moshe Kibel Tora Misinai Vonosno…Todays Rabbonem ALL 100% (The first in USA History) KIBEL TORAH MISINAY and forbid to daven with a Minyan but not to shop in a Grocery Store. Some like you, might not like it (Its your choice) just like many dont like other Mitzvos MISINAI what doesn’t make sense to them. Like why is opening a TV Osur on Shabes . For sure is not a Melacha etc. I have heard similar a dz times. Just ask 30% of the boys in Flatbush/5town/Crown hts. Yeshivos (even Satmar)

Anyone making a Minyan should be really Frum and also bring a Korban Pesach. After all it was only “The Rabbis” that said it can only be done in the Bais Hamikdash and what do they know?

I wonder if in Lakewood they publish Public Service Announcements from other neighborhoods.

Can someone explain to me why people are burning their chometz today? The Lakewood Fire Dept had multiple calls for people burning bread.

My late parents holocaust survivors and very frum would always say, its nice to hear advice from a learned man but you have to have your own sechel.

Believe in yourselves and G-d will help you.

Stop being a bunch of mindless petz.
