Why Is There No Coronavirus In Yemen Or In The Village Of Ferrera-Erbognone, Lombardy?

15

NEW YORK (VINnews) — The coronavirus has spread to over 200 countries worldwide, causing untold suffering and chaos, but there are still some places where it has failed to make any impact. One of these places is Yemen which has yet to report any cases of the virus. This could be due to the bloody civil war going on there for the past five years, a conflict which has killed more than 100,000 and left millions on the brink of starvation. Thus there are likely no foreign visitors to the war-torn country who could have brought the contagious virus with them.

However Israeli-Yemenite folk singer Nissim Germa suggested that the Yemenite diet which is heavily laden from childhood with garlic, onion and other very sharp foods such as zhug and hilbe could help fend off the virus. Germa said that “the virus simply can’t stand the smell.”

While Germa’s assertion has no scientific basis, scientists are still baffled by a small village in the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy which has no known cases of the virus. The village of Ferrera-Erbognone in Lombardy numbers 1100 people whose average age is above 60, yet none of them contracted the virus despite massive infection and mortality in towns around them.

“I think we have antibodies”, a local resident suggested. “We go out and walk around- I have no other explanation.”

Researchers from the neurological institute “Mondino Di Pavia” wanted to check whether local residents are carrying special antibodies in their blood which can protect them from the virus. Residents agreed enthusiastically to be tested for the research, but unfortunately the authorities in Lombardy did not authorize the test and therefore no scientific explanation is available at present. The mayor of the village offered his more prosaic explanation, stating that “residents were obedient and complied with isolation regulations from the beginning and did not come in contact with anyone outside the village.”

Neh I don’t think that spicy foods keep the Yemenites from getting covid 19. What is interesting Japan is number 2, Italy number 4. Spain number 6, Israel number 9 in life expectancy were all hit hard.
Yemen ranks 146 out of 182 in life expectancy.

Garlic does help. A piece of raw garlic in the morning and at night plus vitamin C and zinc.

Is it possible that in Yemen and Ferrera-Erbognone they do not write kesuvos between two men?

Actually there is a simple reason why there are no recorded case of the Coronavirus in Yemen, which I heard from someone who actually lives there. The reason is that they do virtually NO TESTING for the virus. That also explains the extremely low number of recorded cases in Africa.

Yemen is a very backwards country; I don’t think they know what is happening or what the virus is. They are in the middle of a vicious war; I doubt if they keep any records on health….

Yemen is a basket case failed nation living in isolation, where, instead of coronavirus they have such delights as war and famine…and eventually they too will have corona. “Nissim Germa” – a (fictional?) person of no consequence or importance, and his opinion on Yemenite diets is irrelevant at best and dangerous at worse. As for the village in Lombardy, perhaps it is their obedience in observing isolation and clean practices (or is it their belief in Yoshkele?) – the former being something all yidden should aspire to.
