Bahrain Is Defeating The Coronavirus And We Need To Learn From Them

MANAMA, BAHRAIN (VINnews) — The tiny gulf state of Bahrain would not make the headlines in regular times, but these are not regular times and countries worldwide are searching desperately for the formula which will enable them to overcome COVID-19.

Yet Bahrain, whose 1.5 million residents live on an island roughly the size of New York city, could serve as an example of the optimal way to deal with the virus. Even WHO, the World Health Organization, is impressed with Bahrain and has saluted its treatment of COVID-19.

The results speak for themselves: Bahrain has succeeded in testing more than 3.5% of its population. Whoever was in Iran over the last months has been checked. To date about 1000 cases of COVID-19 have been found of whom half have already recovered. 6 people died of the virus. Bahrain is already reopening its shopping malls and returning to normal activity

What did they do right? Here are a few examples:

The Bahrainis systematically and frequently disinfect public places, from airports to local garbage bins. Whoever returns from abroad must be immediately tested. All those who must be in isolation- which includes all those returning from abroad- must also wear an electronic bracelet to monitor their movements. The local health ministry makes spot checks and people must return a picture of themselves with the bracelet on them. Whoever tries to evade isolation is sent to jail for three months and must pay a fine of more than 25,000 dollars.

A government task force was established in January to deal with the virus even before the first case was recorded in Bahrain on 24th of February. This, coupled with the severe enforcement restrictions, enabled the country to prepare equipment, seal its borders effectively (including the bridge through which Saudis come to drink alcohol in local bars)  and effectively contain the virus. No social group was excluded from the rules and no local facility was exempted from regulations.

They must be from the Lost Tribe of Israel as they are much, much cleverer than the stupid frum Jews who are still going to the mikveh, minyomin, funerals and other assorted places they are not allowed. And why did I mention all frum Jews? Because kol yirsoel areivim ze laze and the frummies should be putting the small minority into cheirim and not doing any business with them until they stop killing other people.

Sure. Let’s admire the actions of totalitarian countries that generally use such tactics to repress their populations.

If they had a president like our president their total of infected and deceased would be much higher. Their leadership is more competent and they didn’t have Fox News calling the pandemic a hoax.

Apparently their leaders didn’t spend a month ignoring and dismissing the importance of the coronavirus, minimizing the imortance of the virus’ first handful of victims, baselessly bragging that all was under control, blaming the Chinese, issuing travel bans which did nothing to secure the country internally, and rather than brag about being “wartime” leaders…they tackled the problem head on from day one.
