In one “classroom”, there is a boys 7th grade Gemorah class – learning Mesechta Makkos. In another, is a Beis Midrash chevrusaschaft learning Psachim. In two more rooms there is a Beis Yaakov eleventh grade Navi class and a Beis Yaakov ninth grade Chumash class. In yet another room, there is a 9th grade boys’ Chumash class, a halacha shiur for 11th grade girls and a first grade girls davening.

What is Heaven’s name is going on here??
And the answer is that this is the new classrooms that have opened up on Monday of this week – where all Yeshivos and Bais Yaakovs are now on conference calls or Zooming. The typical frum home in New York has a number of children at every level of instruction, including some teaching. Since everyone is at home, they all sound like Yeshivos.
And boy, are they using up bandwidth. The phones are all taken. The teachers are complaining that the Zoom isn’t working well because the wifi is way into overuse. The parents are asking the more tech-oriented children to look into ordering a second or third wifi.
“Mommy! My tablet isn’t working!”
“Mine isn’t either!”
In short, pandemonium reigns. On the other hand, once again we hear the sweet sounds of Torah being learned. Mi ka’amcha Yisroel..
They should do this after they open up the schools. End of Shiduch crisis/freezer.
click bait – bh challenging but not “PANDEMONIUM” – ah yid getzich an eitza
The article would have been fine without the click bait.
Of course the getchgeh challenged will rise up and cry out how we are destroying these precious neshomas with access to the Internet.
And then there are the schools that will not consider it since the technology is traif.
They are using it and ignoring their prohibition. Except it’s called zoom not the Internet
My children’s schools are all using phone conferences only, no internet required. I did have to get 2 new cellphones though.
‘Twould be nice if Boruch and Josh would provide any evidence for their claims. But I guess it’s more fun to rag on the chareidim.
Hopefully this will end when the epidemic ends otherwise it will lead to another epidemic.
This is terrible. Separate houses please.
They should really require 2 houses one male one female. If this keeps up, next thing you know Frum brothers and sisters will be mixed dancing with each other!
If the coronavirus does one good thing, it’s this: It will become harder to prevent girls from learning Talmud. Such a scandal!
