Bohush Bans ‘Ungrateful’ Informers From Using It’s Beis Midrash Services

BNEI BRAK (VINnews) — The Bohosh chasidic center in Bnei Brak continued to conduct minyanim during the period of the coronavirus despite public health regulations to the contrary. As a consequence, the chasidim suffered from numerous whistleblowers and informers who called the police when minyanim were taking place, causing them to receive thousands of shekels in fines. The chasidus noted that none of its members had fallen sick or passed away from COVID-19 up to the present time.

B’Chadrei Charedim reports that these informers were actually neighbors themselves who have in the past and even during the present enjoyed the use of the center’s facilities including the mikve, synagogue, coffee room, simcha hall and gemach.

The chasidus, which is furious at the ungratefulness of those neighbors for the services they received, issued a declaration that any person who informed on those using the shul or other services within the center will be banned from benefiting from all of those services forthwith. The declaration stressed that this would apply “even if he received permission (to inform)” in a reference to the psak by prominent rabbis that it is permitted to inform on those ignoring health regulations since they are endangering the entire community.

In my opinion..
Actually, my opinion has no standing in this topic. They are probably within their rights based on halacha.
I am impressed that a Chasidus that I never heard of (maybe I am lacking) has enough support to put up a building like that. maybe their foreign supporters should be paying attention.

They are “banning” with a “Bechol Dinay Hatoiroh” although its possible that the calling authorities was also “Bechol Dinay Hatoiroh”. Also is this a Neder, Koinom, Shevi’ooh, Cherem, nideey etc?
Is this ‘al daas Rabbim?
Is it stam Gezailoo? Can they do ths to begin with if the whole plac was built with public monies? Can they make such a T’nay After the building was built?
There are plenty more issues here.

It only makes sense.
Every public institution has rules. Donors know that, so no worries there. Unless they gave with lifeterm strings attached, no issues.

I wish I was one of the people who would inform on them. How many people died because of shuls being open when they should have been closed.

Dear Zev you don’t have to wish you can do it now, and not only about minyanim you can maser and many other things you see wrong in our communities, but I pity you that these are your wishes and I pity more the Gehenom waiting for those doing mesirah, the yiddishe way is not doing such a terrible move of mesira cuz you feel it is right without considering there might be a different opinion, by the way read the article, not one person got sick from that shul.

Zev,

How can you say loshon horah on Hashems mikdash me’at r”l. Think of the Meraglim. Maybe people got it on Purim before we knew about the virus? Maybe people got it after everything was shut down from all the stores that were open? Maybe people got it from family members? How dare you say that they got it from the Holy Shuls!
