NYPDs top cop deescalated a situation himself. It started w/ a fight & gun found, police say. Cops blocked an exit to Washington square park. @nypdchiefofdept said let them go. 2 water bottles were thrown at cops. Protesters said STOP. Then he spoke. They said kneel w/ us. Nice well meaning top cop. But seriously. We all know nothing is going to change. Police brutality will continue unabated. There are officers across this country, right now, who have bad records like the thug in Minneapolis, who are currently on the beat with their badge & guns. They are a murder away from starting another fire across this Country. The corrupt, above the law, Police Unions, keep these evil bullies on the payrolls. If this Chauvin bum had a history of using brutality, WHY WASN’T HE FIRED???! There are thousands like him all across the Country. None of these Mayors have the guts to let a truly independent police review monitor their donut eaters. This has nothing to do with which side of the political spectrum you’re on. Nothing will change. All these protests and riots are a waste of time. Yawn.
