Leading Chabad Rabbis Oppose Trump Peace Plan: ‘Poison Sometimes Resembles A Candy’

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A number of leading Chabad rabbis have expressed public opposition to the peace plan being developed by the Trump administration which includes annexation of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria as well as the establishment of a Palestinian state on the remaining lands, according to a Kikar Hashabat report.

One of the senior Chabad rabbis in Israel, Rabbi Tuvia Blau, issued a letter in which he states that the Trump “annexation” plan is in fact a relinquishment by Israel of most of Judea and Samaria and is a continuation of the Camp David accords.

“The insistence on the entirety of the land and entirety of the nation is a direct and inevitable result of insistence on the entirety of the Torah,” Rabbi Blau wrote. “It is obvious and simple that “right-wing” attitudes not based on total adherence to the entirety of the Torah will lead to concessions due to some kind of “achievements” and the annexation plan is part of this.

Rabbi Blau attacked those who support the plan due to their support for prime minister Netanyahu and wrote that “the present message should help our members attain clarity and distinguish between the idea of the entirety of the land and idolatrous worship of the political right-wing.”

Rabbi Sholom Duber Wolpe, another leading Chabad rabbi, organized a letter to President Trump in which he referred to the present unrest in the US as a divine hint: “We have no doubt that this is a reminder from the Holy One, Blessed be He, warning our great friend America against the illusion of concessions to terrorists, whether the concessions are in the US itself or in agreements that America is developing for the land of Israel.

“Would you, honored President agree to the establishment of a terror state in the heart of the US? Would you agree that those who spread death and destruction, who burn down edifices and loot stores, should be responsible for central roads in the country and for the lives of tens of thousands of innocent Americans?

“Poison sometimes resembles a candy externally since in the framework of the plan there is an intended annexation of part of Judea and Samaria to the state of Israel, but the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Schneersohn, already warned repeatedly that a Palestinian State is Pikuach Nefesh (mortal danger) for millions of Jews. Anyway we require no agreements to state that the borders of the Holy Land are those established in the Torah by the Creator of the world,”

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Glochovsky and Rabbi Avraham Michael Halperin, members of the Chabad Beis Din in Israel, visited the Jewish community in Chevron as well as the Machpela Cave last week and expressed the importance of maintaining the entirety of the land of Israel.

I am a hard-core Chabad and I could say I hate when Rabbis suggest that when something is going on in the world something negative and they use that and write that it’s because of something that someone else is doing that is not appropriate and they know The reasons why God does something(like the riots what’s going on in United States) He should know better as a chabad rabbi not to speak that way

Rav Shach was in favor of land for true peace. Rav Ovadia Yosef instructed Shas MKs to vote for the Oslo accords. Rav Shteinman instructed Degel Hatorah MKs to vote against the pro settler Regulation Bill. The Torah is not opposed to peace.

The borders of Eretz Yisrael are obviously neither up for discussion nor are they of any interest.

What is being discussed is the Zionist State of Israel’s borders, which happen to be in a large part of Eretz Yisrael.

These sound-bites sound like an incredible lack of gratitude to President Trump.

To imply that the present situation in the United States is a message to not allow a Palestinian State seems to “border” on the absurd. The Zionists themselves, including their Prime Minister, seem quite happy with this plan.

The ultimate purpose of the Oslo Accords the Zionists signed almost 30 years ago was obviously “Palestinian” state-hood, in some form or another. How could anyone expect the US President to be a bigger Zionist than the Zionists themselves?

The only “idolatrous” worship here seems to be that of Zionism, not any political wing.

Let’s be very clear: the Zionists are anti-Torah interlopers who have stolen the identity of the Jewish people. Their State, misleadingly (purposely so) called “Israel”, is not Jewish but rather Zionist.

Judaism, meaning the Torah, has zero opinion on Zionist borders (other than it wishes that the Zionists would have never come and made all this trouble in the holy land, and, if possible without harming Jews, for the Zionists to immediately leave).

True. Trump is doing more damage to Israel than Clinton and Obama combined.

Do I read this right. The unrest (Riots ) in the USA is a divine warning against Trumps Anti-Israel anti Torah policy ?

xu hi: “Rav Shach was in favor of land for true peace. Rav Ovadia Yosef instructed Shas MKs to vote for the Oslo accords.”

Now that we’ve seen the destruction that the Oslo Accords brought us, as well as the land of gaza that Israel handed over to the PA on a silver platter which has now become a hotbed of terrorism, it is quitec lear that any sort of compromise could only wreak havoc on Eretz Yisroel.

In hindsight, which suggestion seemed to be more accurate – Rav Shach’s or the Rebbe’s?

Yitzhak Rabin himself conceded on many occasions that the Rebbe was correct in opposing the concept of giving land to the arabs, and expressed his regret on not listening to the Rebbe earlier.

It is quite clear that annexations of any sorts can be nothing short of catastrophic at this point.
