JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A Chareidi woman posted on Facebook pointing out the difference between the way Israeli police are treating Chareidim not wearing masks and secular people flouting the regulations. In one instance a wealthy man organized a Bat Mitzva celebration for his daughter with 1000 participants- a clear violation of regulations limiting events to 250 people. Police however said that they would give out masks to guests but did not want to fine people in order not to “ruin the event.”

When it came to a young Chareidi girl in Jerusalem who was not wearing a mask while walking her little siblings down the street, police did not feel the need to demonstrate sensitivity. They detained her and wanted to fine her until passersby intervened.

In another instance police gave out a mask to a secular woman while a Chareidi woman found without her mask was fined.
As one blogger quipped: If you see a policeman, put on your mask. If you didn’t put on the mask in time, take off your kippah.
Secular work, pay taxes, go to the army to defend the country. Chareidy? They should be happy the police don’t treat them like the arab’s who do exactly the same.
Secular or chareidi why not ask the question why aren’t they wearing masks in the first place.
Virtually every Chesed organization was founded and is run by the charadim whom you despise. In addition you may feel that your guns and tanks is protecting the country when the fact is the Torah is protecting us. Who knows ow much worse this magaifa would be if not for our learning Torah.
To anonymous: I am very chareidi, I work, pay taxes, and did army (segen). How exactly should I be treated? Just like the arabs?!
Chaim
We have the same problem in NY. Jews get fined, non-Jews get masks.
Charaidim better start standing up for themselves. They have the power to bring down the government. Why do the charaidim allow themselves to be harrassed like that?
Don’t charaidim also have rights? Or only Arabs and homosexuals in Tel Aviv are afforded proper respect in Israel?
Anti-semite!
So as a Charedie person who enjoys his religious freedoms here in chutz liaretz, should I make an aliyah and lose all those rights?
How did De Blasio make an impact on Israeli police?
