WASHINGTON (Newsmax) – The Trump administration is cracking down on leakers by planting information to see if it gets out to reporters, reports Axios.

President Donald Trump’s chief of staff “[Mark] Meadows told me he was doing that,” one former White House official told the news outlet. “I don’t know if it ever worked.”

Politico last week reported that the Trump administration opened an internal investigation to try to uncover who leaked intelligence about Russians paying the Taliban to kill American soldiers following a New York Times report titled, “Russia Secretly Offered Afghan Militants Bounties to Kill U.S. Troops, Intelligence Says.”

Trump, according to Politico, seems to be more worked up about the Russia leak considering the highly classified information, though he has always been upset about staffers leaking material.

“Leaks drive presidents crazy,” Chris Whipple, the presidential historian who wrote about White House chiefs of staff, told Axios. “They always have and they always will. But one thing that effective chiefs of staff figure out is that the way you prevent leaks is not by tapping people’s phones or threatening to ruin them.”

Gov Cuomo just destroyed trumpf in his daily Covid-19 briefing. Trumpf dismantled his Taask Farce and is attacking Fauci. What a shanda he is. 140,000+ dead, many in Swing States. Wow.

There have been more leaks from this Trump administration than any prior administration. Trump’s own appointees know that he’s an inept fool and are the sources of the leaks. It’s not the imaginary deep state, but Trump appointees.

The lack of loyalty in this White House is breathtaking. It is as if everyone is leaking to protect their own reputation in the years to come.
