NEW YORK (AP) — New York City restaurants can resume indoor dining on Sept. 30 at 25% capacity with other restrictions, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday.

Cuomo said all customers will undergo temperature checks at the door and one member of each party will have to provide information for contact tracing if needed.

Customers will not be served drinks at bars, which will be to provide drinks for table service, and restaurants must close at midnight. Tables will be required to be 6 feet apart and customers must wear masks while not at the table.

Indoor dining is already allowed in restaurants elsewhere in New York state.

“We knew that compliance was lacking in New York City. That was a reason for caution,” Cuomo said at a Wednesday briefing.

Neighboring New Jersey recently enacted similar rules.

Cuomo said the state could halt indoor dining if infection rates go up.

But if it remains steady, New York City could lift more restrictions on indoor dining starting Nov. 1, when Cuomo said the state will look at the infection data and decide whether to allow increased capacity at restaurants.

Mayor Bill de Blasio released the following statement:

“We are continuing New York City’s economic recovery by bringing back indoor dining. Working with the state and public health officials, we’ve achieved a plan that puts health and safety first by including strict capacity limits, a close monitoring of citywide positive testing rates and a coordinated inspection regimen. Science will guide our decision-making as we continue to monitor progress and health care indicators over the next three weeks to ensure a safe reopening. This may not look like the indoor dining that we all know and love, but it is progress for restaurant workers and all New Yorkers.”

According to the announcement, some requirements for restaurants will include:

  • Serve customers at a maximum of 25% capacity
  • Conduct temperature checks at every front door
  • Collect Test & Trace data from at least one customer at each table
  • Close bar tops for seating
  • Offer COVID-19 protections like PPE for employees
  • Space tables six feet apart

If New York City hits 2% in COVID-19 positivity rates, the City will immediately reassess.

we demand that the goyim are given full access to bars, restaurants, gyms, sporting arenas, movie theaters, the broadway, casinos, and public schools before they start killing each other in earnest.

How many restaurants are left to open?? The only reason Cuomo changed his mind about indoor dining was that he was sued personally by restaurant owners. Who’s gong to eat in, or go out anywhere with all the crime. Talk about incompetence. Being locked down for so long only lowered the immunity system and that’s why this governor (and mayor) are so afraid to reopen – they know it’s inevitable that cases are going to go up. And if they lock down again (even after the election), NYC will look like Baltimore, Detroit and other mismanaged cities.
