JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israeli interior minister Arye Deri sent a letter to Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky imploring him to allow Chasidim stranded at the Ukrainian border with Belarus to enter the country for the duration of Rosh Hashana.

They knew that Ukraine shut the borders down and weren’t going to allow anyone in. If they are stuck where they are they have no one else to blame but themselves. I wish them a safe journey home but they knew what they getting into.

Why would Ukraine want to allow people from a nation where Covid is rising, and will be in lockdown in a few days enter their nation?

All in all, this seems to be a good time to stay home and save the pilgrimage for next year.
