Petach Tikva Mayor Installs Mikva-Tech System In Mikves As It Removes Coronavirus From Water

PETACH TIKVA (VINnews) — It is no secret that mikves may be a source of germs despite the attempts to maintain proper hygiene inside them. Since the outset of COVID-19, many people have been wary of visiting mikves, and even among women who have an absolute obligation to visit the mikve, there has been a drop in attendance according to reports by the religious councils in Israel. Petach Tikva religious council members Ofer Avraham and Paltiel Aisenthal presented data to mayor Rami Greenberg demonstrating that there had been a drastic reduction in the number of people immersing in mikves due to their fear of infection.

Greenberg was shaken by the information and said that this could cause serious violations of halakha as well as harming people who are actually immersing. After intense work by the municipality in conjunction with the local religious council, a solution was found involving a system known as Mikva-Tech, which is used in the purification of Mikves. The new system ensures that the mikve stays free of viruses and bacteria and in a special investigation by the company which received the approval of the health ministry, the system removed all traces of COVID-19 from the water.

Greenberg says that “Mikves are a basic essential need for all sectors of the people of Israel. Immediately when I received the data I ordered all the officials to find a proper and serious solution to the concern that mikves could cause coronavirus. When the possibility of a purification system arose which is recommended both by health authorities and rabbinic elements, I sat and read about the efficiency of the system and I saw that this could be a true solution to the problem created by the advent of the coronavirus, so I directed my officials to install the system in the relevant mikves in the town.

Covid does not spread through water. Pools and hot tubs are not a source of spread. It is clearly stated on CDC website. The only issue is surfaces and exposure to people near you.

What about walking barefooted on the Mikvah floors can that be a possibility of contracting Covid?

Nonsense.
Every mikva uses chlorine. Corona is instantly destroyed with even small amounts of chlorine.
