NEW YORK (VINnews) — The NYPD is investigating an incident in which individuals attempted to alter their appearance in order to fraudulently vote more than once, according to a report by the NY Post.

The fraud was noticed at approximately 2:00 PM on Thursday, at an early voting site in the Bronx, when indivuals entered with shaved heads. Despite the fact that their heads were not shaved the first time around, an employee of the polling location recognnized them from the first time they came in to vote.

After they were confronted, the individuals escaped the scene in two vehicles, but not before the employee managed to take note of their license plates. 911 was called.

The NYPD is currently working to locate the videos, as well as studying surveillance from the area.

City Board of Elections Secretary Fred Umane comfirmed that election officials were notified of the incident.

“They were trying to vote more than once or we wouldn’t be talking about it,” Umane said.
