DUBAI (VINnews) — One of Egypt’s most popular singers, Mohammed Ramadan took a picture with Israeli singer Omer Adam who is visiting the Emirates. Adam uploaded the picture to his Instagram account and this caused a furious reaction in the Palestinian Authority and the Egyptian social media, which eschews social contacts between Israelis and Egyptians despite the peace accords between the two countries.

Ramadan, who was described as a “traitor” and a “Zionist” by some surfers, allegedly told the Al-Misri newspaper that “I’m not interested in your name, color, day of birth. It is the person who interests me even if he hasn’t got an address. I don’t know and I don’t ask evey person who takes a selfie with me, I don’t ask about his religion or citizenship. G-d created us equals, Whoever asks to have his picture taken with me I agree and don’t refuse anyone.”
Egyptian commentators are skeptical, especially after they saw another clip in which Ramadan is seen listening to the notes of Hava Nagila:
סרטון שמוסיף עוד קצת שמן למדורה מתעד שבמקום בו הצטלם מחמד רמדאן עם עומר אדם הושמעה ברקע המנגינה של "הבה נגילה"

Ramadan was also pictured together with Israeli Arab soccer player Dia Saba as well as another Israeli Big Brother celebrity, Eldad Tzafni:
Ahmed Musa, a well-known Egyptian commentator who echoes the sentiments of the local political establishment, said that “Mohammed Ramadan must go out to the public and state whether it is true and whether he knew or didn’t know. We need to understand if the calamity is true or not. If it is he will have a problem with all of us. There is peace with Israel but only between the leaders. There is no closeness between the nations.”
Egypt has maintained a peace agreement with Israel for 41 years, but the Egyptian public has not embraced Israelis or demonstrated any interest in warming relations between the two nations.
Your caption indicates the Israeli singer is on the right, while it seems that he is, as pictured currently, on the left.
that is the way it is in many Arab countries, but not all.
