Atlas, who joined the administration in August, released his resignation letter on Monday. His role was set to expire on its own this week.

In the letter, obtained by Fox News, Atlas thanked the president for “the honor and privilege to serve on behalf of the American people.”

“I worked hard with a singular focus—to save lives and help Americans through this pandemic,” wrote Atlas wrote, noting that he “always relied on the latest science and evidence, without any political consideration or influence.”

“As time went on, like all scientists and health policy scholars, I learned new information and synthesized the latest data from around the world, all in an effort to provide you with the best information to serve the greater public good,” Atlas wrote. “But, perhaps more than anything, my advice was always focused on minimizing all the harms from both the pandemic and the structural policies themselves, especially to the working class and the poor.”

Atlas also wished the best to the Biden administration.

“I sincerely wish the new team all the best as they guide the nation through these trying, polarized times,” Atlas wrote. “With the emerging treatments and vaccines, I remain highly optimistic that America will thrive once again and overcome the adversity of the pandemic and all that it has entailed.”

Atlas had several spats with other members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force over the course of his time with the administration.

Dr. Atlas had no qualifications to serve on the task force. His specialty was radiology and he had no training in infectious diseases. Trump saw him on Fox News and that was his ticket to the White House.

Yesterday, 1,204 Americans died because of this virus. There can be no excuse for this man abandoning his post at this time.

He will be missed. An honest scientist and brave man countering the liar and psycopathic Fauci , the Data manipulator and Trump hater.
