The charges that have been announced include election fraud, illegal voting, unlawfully assisting people voting by mail, and unlawfully possessing an official ballot.

Texas AG Ken Paxton announced the arrest Wednesday, saying that Rachel Rodriguez was taken into custody following an investigation that was sparked by a Projct Veritas video showing Rodriguez participating in vote harvesting in the lead up to the 2020 election.

The Election Fraud Division of the Office of the Attorney General reviewed dozens of hours of raw enedited video footage, in which Rodriguez openly says she is aware that her actions are illegal and can land her in prison.

Each one of the charges is considered a felony under the Texas Election Code.

Rodriguez can potentially face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
